Wave Hill’s Forest Project Summer Collaborative – Forest Project Intern Opportunity

We are currently recruiting sophomores, juniors and seniors for Wave Hill’s Forest Project Summer Collaborative.  As Forest Project Interns, high school students have the opportunity to earn money by working to restore woodland areas at Wave Hill. In addition to the restoration component, student interns earn college credits by taking a summer course in Plant Science or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at CUNY’s Lehman College. The six week program runs Monday through Friday starting in Early July.

We are seeking applicants who are interested in the environment, the health of New York City’s woodlands, and capable of rigorous physical and academic work.  Applicants should have a strong academic record and a grade of B or better in two Regents level science classes.

Please check our website: http://www.wavehill.org/education/internships.html.   There you find more information about the program as well as the online application.  Application deadline is March 25, 2011.
